I'm a huge Kirsty fan. I suppose my big hero is Morrissey, and I always thought she was a kinda female version, but she touched my life in a way that even he didn't. I'm not sure that there are any female singer-songwriters around today who come anywhere near her standard. Girls have seemingly reverted to singing about bollocks in a way that she refused to.

I didn't cry when she died, but last year I saw a documentary about her mother trying to find the truth about her death and it had me in floods.
