Happily, got home in time to get to Test Park in Southampton to see AFC Portchester’s first pre-season friendly, with Lymington Town. Dan and Max were there, I got to talk to Mark the Ladies’ manager and kit man TC, and saw a lively game end 3-3. There was no food or drink at the venue, necessitating a post-match visit to The Saints pub for an ice cold wild berry Rekorderlig.
This morning I learned Rachel’s flight from Majorca into Gatwick was delayed and landed so late that she had to spend last night in Gatwick airport, waiting for the milk train to set off.
Twitter tells of continuing chaos and cancellations galore at all of England’s airports. I’d intended to fly to Manchester on Tuesday for the start of the Women’s Euros.
Today I booked a train.
