New Beginning (Mamba Seyra)
Aug. 30th, 2021 10:49 amAnother trip to London on Saturday to see Clapton Community at the Stray Dog again. Arrived in Walthamstow in plenty of time. I fancied some falafel so walked almost the length of the High Street until I finally found a Middle Eastern eaterie serving it. Very tasty. Back along the High Street and over the road for some gelato, then on to the ground, via a nearby off licence for four cans of Tyskie.
On the New Scaffold, a fellow fan noticed me drinking Tyskie and observed that this beer, once the trademark tipple of the Clapton faithful, was now out of favour owing to Poland's anti-LGBT laws. Oops.
With kick-off drawing near I made my way to behind the far goal to join the BUC, none of whom minded my drinking Tyskie. All the same, I made a mental note to order a supply of my favourite tipple Revenge of the Sith Faced from Fallen Acorn and bring them to future matches. Dave noticed my Portsmouth FC rain jacket; he confessed to being an Arsenal fan. I'd learned all the Brigata chants by now and was able to join in in full voice. CCFC won a thriller 3-2.
