First Cut Is The Deepest
Jun. 7th, 2020 09:15 pmFor the last 3 weeks I've had raffle fever, as The One Goal charity have been announcing a series of 20 signed shirts donated by women's football legends, being raffled for Together Against Corona. Across a generous number of the shirts, I ended up buying a grand total of £192 worth of tickets. Tuned into the announcement of the winners live on Instagram last night...
Nada.
Yes, it's fantastic that £20,000 was raised in all for Together Against Corona. I can be proud of having contributed nearly 1% of that. But a part of me can't help feeling flat and cheddared that not one of my numbers came out of the hat.
Although, on reflection, I had only a 1 in 5 chance of a prize.
In need of a pick-me-up this evening, I tuned in to The Vicar of Dibley on Gold - a classic episode, Autumn - only to find many lines edited out for containing fruity language. And the loss of those lines pretty much made the whole show nonsense. I wish TV stations would just leave our best loved shows in their original uncut form and not bugger up our enjoyment.
I'm going to be in a right smegging mood for the week ahead at work now. Thanks a bundle, UK TV.
