A good episode of Top of the Pops 1979 tonight. Elvis Costello's Oliver's Army was the highlight and, thankfully, the BBC left the song uncensored. We also had Chiquititta by Abba, danced to by Legs & Co, an impressive number from Judas Priest, and plenty of lovely ladies - including Darts' female singer with a sexy wiggle and a glam revealing outfit, and of course Debbie Harry, at #1 with Blondie and Heart of Glass, taking an early lead in my Pop Babe of '79 contest.

Just seen the launch of the new series of The Big Reunion on ITV2. Apart from Eternal, I'm not really familiar with the groups on it this year, but seeing these early episodes telling the story of each group, and what's happened to each member since their 15 minutes of fame ended, is absolutely fascinating. Can't believe the idiocy of Girl Thing's record company, in both not capitalising on their Austrslian popularity and not bringing them back to Britain to launch their second single. How different things might have been.
