The Beat Goes On
Aug. 1st, 2013 09:22 pmPhysio again after work. I had an extra quarter-hour's wait because Ajay overran with one of his previous patients, but it was short and sweet. From my arm lifts he said approvingly that I now had full range, meaning the exercises had been paying off. After giving my shoulder a thorough pummel for a few minutes he told me I could stop doing three of the existing exercises, and substitute some new ones involving a strip of stretchy material, not unlike the stuff balloons are made of, that he said the clinic would sell me for £2 (he explained that they're not provided by the NHS). One of them was designed to build up my back muscles which he said were weak; he added that he won't start me on weights because of my bad shoulder. We ran through each one a couple of times - he kept telling me not to close my eyes during them - and that was it.
The receptionist charged me £3 for the stretchy strip.
