Shoulder pain still nagging after a month so went back to doctor's this morning. After asking some questions and having me do a few quick exercises he confirmed that it's trapezium muscle strain, prescribed me Naproxen, recommended that I use a hot and cold pack and gave me some exercises to do.

By then I'd switched on my phone outside the surgery to get a shock. Last night I'd emailed, jointly, the owner of one of the online stations I listen to and the presenter of one of my favourite shows, with what was meant as a helpful suggestion. At present, that station broadcasts a random old edition of the show every week; my proposal was that the two guys liaise, to arrange that the station broadcast the latest edition each week.

Switched on phone outside the doc's this morning to find the owner of the station had replied with a barrage of abuse, based on his perception that I seem to listen to another station more often than his own. He'd then launched two follow-up emails, one advising me to listen to a station with which his own has a bitter rivalry "if they're better", the other just a tirade of four-letter words. He's also blocked me on Facebook.

All that for what was put politely and meant to be a helpful suggestion. And I'd always got on fine with this guy before. I even cheered for Bradford City in the League 2 play-off because he supports them and put pages backing them on the station website. That got me a lot of stick down the pub, where the other regulars wanted Northampton Town to win because they're fairly near us. Of course Bradford won and I'm now bitterly rueing that day.

The DJ who does another of my favourite shows messaged me when I posted on Facebook (not identifying the man or the station). After he'd confirmed with me by private message who it was, he said this guy had done the same to others, including this DJ's brother - which resulted in the DJ leaving said station last year.

Yes, I know my conscience should be clear, I didn't do anything wrong. But equally, I didn't deserve this treatment. And I am someone for whom the sheer injustice of something like this will simply never be "shrug-offable". Have to find a way of getting the emotions off my chest, somehow.

Chronic timing that the doctor put me on anti-inflams today, when I could have done with a drink tonight.

And now I guess it's time for bed. Terrific.
