Ship Of Fools

The owner of the room I visited yesterday just rang to say the other guy took it today. So yesterday's 260-mile round trip was a complete waste of time, and I have to make the journey again on 14 July and see what the local paper's small ads and shop window cards have to offer.

And I wonder whether the landlord just wanted me as a catalyst, to spur the other guy into action.

Ah well, time to pour a Murphy's for Ireland v Croatia.
