Deck The Blooming Halls
Dec. 1st, 2011 07:05 pmAt the office today, many of the teams on our floor put their Christmas decorations up today. For the last fortnight, Demelza and I had been planning the same. In the end, because of illness, childcare and annual leave, of our team only Melissa, Chris and I were in today - and Chris told us she wouldn't be much use at putting decs up, as she's still got her hand bandaged up after she broke it falling over on the dancefloor last weekend. So we didn't try.
Then in the afternoon Frances said to me "I thought you were putting your decs up today?" Melissa replied "Mark says we can put them up on Monday." Sharon asked whether Mark was a Christmas grump; Sam confirmed "Yes, he doesn't much like Christmas." "Like me," Frances grinned, showing off the black "Bah! Humbug!" hat she'd perched on her lamp. I pointed out that Bev and Mel, who'd both booked today as leave to go Christmas shopping, would be thinking they'd escaped mucking in with the decorations, only to find themselves roped in come Monday...
