Oct. 1st, 2010 05:14 pmYesterday was Joe and Sarah's last day on secondment - and would have been mine if I hadn't been on my training course or taken a day's holiday to recover from the Cullompton trip. Graham, one of the supervisors, held a buffet at lunch time for everyone that worked on the month's task; among the crowd were a few familiar faces including Ray and Jane, who'd been helping out doing Saturday overtime. There were bottles of champagne and red and white wine there, but I never touch a drop of alcohol when driving so stuck to orange juice. Also on offer were luxury chocolate biscuits, and we all got a slice of a giant cream sponge cake iced to look like one of the workbooks we'd been working on. At the end of the shift Joe, Sarah and I all said our goodbyes to each other.
Felt really groggy in the evening. Constantly blowing my nose, hints of a headache, tiredness - I feared I might have a cold coming on. Got an early night, but woke up early and took over an hour to get back to sleep. Thankfully not too bad this morning, touch wood.
My temporary department was almost deserted today - lots of people appeared to have taken the day off, and with Joe and Sarah back in their parent departments I was alone in my row. Perhaps that was why the day really seemed to drag.
