Feb. 18th, 2010 06:02 pmWent down to reception at 9.20, on my way to the Intermediate Word course where I'd be spending the rest of the day, to finally sign the accident book. Margaret the receptionist gave me the form to fill in, but then she had to send for Adrian the Health & Safety officer to debrief me - fortunately he arrived pretty quick and only needed me for a minute, but he did ask why I hadn't reported the incident on Monday. I explained about the security guy being absent and Adrian said I should have phoned him. I reminded him that I don't have his extension number.
The course was very good, taught by a friendly lady called Suzanne, and I picked up plenty of useful tricks to use on Microsoft Word, many of which I hadn't even encountered on the ECDL. Sarah #1 from the telephone unit was also on the course; returning from lunch, she told me off for asking Suzanne for my third coffee machine token of the day - "You're only meant to have two!" When Suzanne phoned Miriam the education lady to request reinforcements of tokens, she came off the phone to say to me "You've got us in trouble with Miriam. I didn't tell her whose fault it is though." The session ended with a quiz, us being divided into two teams to ask each other questions about what we'd studied today. I answered several, prompting Sandra and Lynne to say I should be their "phone a friend".
