This afternoon we thought we'd got the news that we'd been waiting for, about the question of whether we'd have to make up time lost last week thanks to being unable to get to the office through the snow. An announcement appeared on the intranet to say we would all be able to claim a full day's hours for Wednesday when almost nobody could get in, and that line managers would use their discretion over those of us who didn't make it on Thursday and Friday. Had an informal chat with Sue, who said she didn't see a problem with giving me credit for both those days when there were no buses.

And then Elaine got an email to say that managers weren't to sign off any forms, and we'd all have to wait longer for the definitive verdict...
