Back to work. Had the standard meeting with Sue to discuss my sick absence; no problems, I had my doctor's certificate, and told her the full story of the pains, visits to doctors and the nurse, and medication. Sue was fine with it all, satisfied that I hadn't been up to coming in this past week and that I was feeling better now.

Went with Sue to an 'Any Questions' session given by one of senior management; I didn't ask anything myself but some of the topics discussed were fairly interesting to listen to, though they didn't touch on our department. And we got free coffee and biscuits.

Then after lunch there was enough work to keep me going for the rest of the day without my having to go on the spreadsheet.
