Sep. 29th, 2009 05:38 pmThis morning Bev came over wanting to show me a couple of corrections she'd made while checking over my work. I was happy to talk to her but she spotted I was in the middle of doing a batch on the database, which you're supposed to complete without any interruptions. "Oh, sorry," she said embarrassedly and hurried back to her desk.
So when I'd finished my batch, I went over to the kitchen area and made myself a cup of coffee, then on my return said "Bev? Ready when you are." She was completely nonplussed - "What?" I repeated "Ready when you are," in case she hadn't heard properly, but she still had no idea what I meant. I had to explain that I was ready to look at her corrections now. Of course, everyone found this most amusing, and Chris sought to spare Bev's blushes with "You were concentrating on your work, weren't you?" As she came over to me Bev explained she'd been engrossed in 'doing an operation' (assigning codes to a surgical procedure).
