Aug. 29th, 2009 11:08 amDriving lesson. No disasters until a quarter of an hour from the end, when I was told to turn left at the Brockhurst Roundabout, so signalled left ... then, coming on to the roundabout, for some insane reason I started heading for the second exit. I think I'd taken left as meaning left at the immediately following roundabout. So Peter grabbed the wheel and rapidly steered me down the first exit road - "LEFT! That's the way you signalled!" Minutes later I was set to go left at the Privett roundabout. Sensing a suitable gap in the traffic I headed forward, and Peter said "Off your brake"...at the precise moment when a car coming off the roundabout headed for the same, one car width, gap as me. So I had Peter shouting "Slow down! Let him go first, stay on your brake!" in my ear. At the end I pointed out about him saying "Off your brake" and he reckoned he'd meant come a little bit off the brake. Ho hum.
