Jun. 17th, 2009 05:03 pmEvery day brings new complications to learn, but I'm doing fine.
This morning Elaine called us all round to tell us her plans for the Great Desk Reshuffle when it comes in the autumn. Her first idea involved three people moving, albeit not far, but as soon as she unveiled it several people chipped in with suggestions of their own. Elaine mentioned that she'd wanted to keep people with window seats in window seats; as I'm not bothered about a window seat, and I am a newbie after all, I said I'd be happy to switch to an aisle seat if it made things easier. That led Elaine and a couple of others to suggest a minor modification of her original plan, with three people all moving along one and me going to the aisle, but still a number of the others had ideas of their own. Elaine said she'd go away and try and work out something everyone could be comfortable with...
After Jane and I met Paula for lunch, I bumped into Peter the Dorchester Town fan in the shop. He asked who Hawks had signed this summer; I told him Gary Macdonald, and he said they'd brought back Matt Groves from E*******h, a signing he was very pleased with. I wished them luck in their derbies with the mongs from Weymouth in the coming season.
Then Jane and I had to get back to work while Paula and Linda still had an extra ten minutes...
