To Fort Blockhouse for the ladies' double header with Shanklin. Having learned not to rely on the facilities there, I'd taken advantage of the Co-op's offer - 2 cans of Red Bull for £1.60 - yesterday evening and brought the cans along today. During the interval between games Steve was drinking a cup of coffee; Rob observed that it was a warm day for him to be having a hot drink, and Steve pointed out that that was all the machine had. He, Val and I had a good grumble together about the pathetic failure to keep the machines stocked, and how you'd expect better of a military establishment, drawing a baleful look from Trevor. It might be Trev's workplace, but surely even he can't stick up for the lamentable lack of refreshments. I'm sure our service personnel would be equally appreciative if the machines were kept well stocked at all times. Trevor had, earlier, been shitty to me when I enquired about future fixtures. I can only assume the men's team's poor form is to blame.

On the pitch, the girls made heavy weather of it until Charlie broke the deadlock with a brilliant goal in the 46th minute. From then on it was easier, and we won the first game 3-0. Then Sally, who'd been working this morning, arrived in time to play in the second match; as always, she added spark, and the girls ran out 2-0 winners to keep the 100% record alive.

Lisa's unavailable for a few weeks, so Becky proved she's not just a pretty WAG by taking on the physio's bag, and did a pretty good job on Alex with the magic sponge to applause from all of us on the touchline. Earlier she'd been instructed by the ref, who frankly had a shocker, to stand behind the perimeter fence after he got fed up with her comments. She continued to stand at pitchside regardless.
