The Hawk girls were due to play Shanklin on the Isle of Wight tonight. I got to the Wightlink terminal in Portsmouth in plenty of time for the 5 pm meet-up and bought a ferry/train ticket...and was still all on my tod at ten past five. I'd already tried ringing Lisa once and gone straight to voicemail; now I tried again, same happened. So I rang Trevor, who thankfully did answer his phone and said the match had been called off at 3.35 because of floodlight failure.

After I took this evening as official holiday as well. I sloped back down to the Gosport ferry, then as I put my hand in my pocket to get my Gosport ferry ticket I felt my Isle of Wight ticket - reminding me to go back to the Wightlink terminal and get a refund.
