Feb. 14th, 2009 09:32 amThe telephone unit were stretched yesterday, so they were happy to let me stay on to 3 pm; my last interview actually ran up to quarter past. The 3.30 bus was twenty minutes late, so by the time I got onto the Gosport bus I went smack into the A32 crawl. It was quarter to five when I arrived at the White Hart; the one blessing of that was that the Stoke Chippy was open. Huss and chips first class.
Went to Westleigh Park last night for Kayleigh and Vicky's engagement party. I arrived early so Vicky ran over to meet me at the door and invited me to come and sit at their table. Spent the evening with Vicky's relatives, who'd driven down from Liverpool that day, getting nicely drunk on Kopparberg. Most of the ladies' team were there and they occasionally got me up on to the dance floor, helped by the DJ playing a good selection of 80s and 00s music. He also spun I'll Be There For You by the Rembrandts a couple of times; the second time, at the height of the 'party' section of the disco near the end, Charlie, Liz and Jodie, all facing me, reached out to me when they sang along with the chorus.
My cough persists; this morning I hawked up a giant green globule.
