To everyone who commented yesterday, many thanks for your support - much appreciated.

There was one other guy, like me a 3.30 starter, in the TV lounge with me as the athletes were being introduced for the women's 400 metres final, then just before the race began Paul and Dan from the support team burst in, followed by Kevin halfway through the race. As they went into the home straight Christine Ohorugu was fourth and looked out of it; we couldn't believe it as she turned her jets on while Sandy Richards started running backwards! We all had a quick cheer to celebrate Christine's gold medal then wandered upstairs to start, or in the clerical guys' case go back to, work.

It was Mellissa's last day so she brought in a tin of Heroes for the nibbles table. I didn't really know her, but I made a point of thanking her for the chocs and wishing her good luck for the future.

We had a briefing in the Map Room from two guys from head office today. Mostly heavy stuff about what's done with the survey data, but it got us all off the phones for nearly an hour and a half so gets a big thumbs up from me.

At 8 pm Val approached me and asked me to switch to dress rehearsal as they were short of bodies. All went smoothly, I'm glad to say.
