May. 12th, 2008 10:30 pmThis afternoon I got a headache, brought on by too much sun, and it was still throbbing at the beginning of the shift. Luckily the computers were down so we weren't able to go on the phones for over half an hour. We were told to read our internal e-mails, but fortunately I only had two and was able to sit back in my chair and relax (we aren't allowed to leave our booths if the computers are down on work time, even if we're just sitting doing nothing).
One lady early on said she was happy to do the survey, but that we'd have to allow for background noise from her little granddaughter. Almost as soon as we started, the granddaughter began wailing "I want a biscuit" over and over again. She kept it up for ten minutes, then the lady decided she had to adjourn the interview till little 'un was in bed.
Had a stroke of luck halfway through the shift, when I put 50p in the chocolate machine for a Kit Kat Chunky and two dropped out.
