Mar. 17th, 2008 10:25 pmI got to say goodbye to Karen after all, as she was in tonight - her last day is this Wednesday. About three-quarters of an hour into the shift she was standing by the printer so I went over to her. When I said she was taking early retirement, she smiled and said "oh, thank you. No, I'm retiring for real." I replied that I'd thought she was about 50, and a lady passing us by called me an old smoothie.
Steve stopped by my booth late in the shift to talk about footie. The news that I'd been to see Moneyfields on Saturday pleased him immensely, as he's good pals with the uncle of Moneys player Graeme Gee.
At the very end of the shift I got to have a farewell hug and kiss with her.
