Got 100% on PowerPoint *airhorn*

I hadn't had the chance to buy The Big Issue from the lady in Fareham during the week, so this morning I sought out the guy who sells it outside Gosport Boots every Saturday. Though I hadn't seen him for nearly two months, he greeted me like a long-lost brother and gave me a massive handshake when I'd completed my purchase. Nice.

Got over to Westleigh Park early to watch Man Utd v Portsmouth in the clubhouse. Idly wandering around the ground before the game on telly started, I met Trevor. After he'd talked to me about the women's team for a while, the phone in his office rang. Before long, Trev was calling out to me and asking if I'd be the club's update person for the Non-League Vidiprinter website. At Hawks home games I have to text the guy who runs the site whenever a goal's scored and at full time. Happy to be of service to the club, of course I agreed.

In the clubhouse were a lot of dual Hawks/Pompey supporters and Portsmouth fans who'd come to see us because they couldn't or wouldn't get to Old Trafford. The match wasn't a classic, though there were a few memorable moments, notably Rio Ferdinand going in goal! All around me a huge cheer went up when Muntari's penalty hit the back of the net. After buying my first Magners, I noticed too late that they now had Brothers on sale; alas, by the time I went to get a refill they'd sold out of Brothers.

And so into the ground for Hawks v Bishop's Stortford. With my new role, I had to watch the match with mobile constantly in hand - and I was called into service after two minutes when Rocky Baptiste hit the back of the net. So while everyone else was on their feet celebrating I was frantically texting! Hawks had tons more chances to score throughout the game, but all were either shot wide or over the bar or blocked by the keeper. Stortford equalised just after the restart and added a second just after the hour, and for all Hawks' effort they had no reply. Craig Watkins and Gavin McCallum, brought on as subs, constantly tried but were frustrated at every turn by the Bishop's Stortford defence. So the first result I had to text in in my official capacity was a 1-2 defeat.

Realistically, that's it for our chances of reaching the play-offs.

It's a long walk back to the station when your team's just lost and the weather's grotty.

On the ferry back to Gosport a lady came up, sat next to me and said hello in a familiar voice. It was Ann. She was delighted over Pompey's win and said she couldn't wait for Match of the Day, to see Rio Ferdinand in goal. We chatted over each other's news and reminisced about college days till we split to get our respective buses.

And so on to Ferneham Hall with Jade and Vanessa to see 'Voulez Vous'. They put on a great show, with narrative telling the Abba story and odd snatches of interviews recorded with Benny and Bjorn at the height of their fame interspersed between performances of all Abba's hits, from Ring Ring right through to The Day Before You Came and finishing with sing-alongs of Waterloo, Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen and Thank You For The Music. While Voulez Vous performed, footage of Abba themselves performing the same songs, or their original videos, played on the backdrop. The group captured Abba's sound perfectly and got the presentation just right. I had only two minor gripes : one of my favourites, Fernando, was only partially performed, and the Abba original version of The Winner Takes It All was played rather than Voulez Vous singing it. The Agnetha in Voulez Vous performed very well on her solo numbers, so surely she should have been allowed to sing Winner. That's the point of a tribute band.

But it was an excellent show and both Jade and Ness had a thoroughly good time.

Home to learn Barnsley had beaten Chelsea. Hooray - all the Big 4 are OUT! The magic of the FA Cup lives.
