First thing this morning several people at the office asked if I was excited at the prospect of going to Anfield. I told them not to get their hopes up about us beating Swansea - we got tanked by Bishop's Stortford last night. Paula said "Better to get your bad game out of the way there."

Pat didn't get in until noon, then, thanks to her being busy talking to someone else then my getting a couple of long interviews, I didn't get to talk to her until 1.25. She told me the confusion over my holidays had been caused by my cancelling several of my requests, and to clear matters up she'd made me out a new leave book with the cancelled requests left out. She happily told me I had six hours' more leave than I thought I had, but that joy was short-lived. I pointed out that she'd left New Year's Eve out of the list of leave taken.

She replied "But you worked New Year's Eve. Sandi saw you here."

I explained that I'd swapped onto the New Year's Eve morning shift, but had taken the evening shift as holiday. (The office was actually closed on New Year's Eve evening, but when that happens we have to work a make-up shift. The only evening I could have fitted in a make-up shift was next Wednesday. Just in case Hawks' game with Swansea went to a replay, I'd decided to use up a holiday instead - wisely, as it turned out.)

So the six hours were debited to my record once again and I ended up back where I started.

Just checked my ECDL Module 1 result - I passed, with 34 correct answers out of 36.
