After changing my email address in my lj account details to my Hotmail one, I waited in vain yesterday evening for the confirmation email. Logged in this morning - still nothing. Checked the lj Help section just now to find...mail from lj central to Hotmail is currently blocked.

So I've had to set up an account with Googlemail just to give a home to emails from lj.

Back to college. Early in the class Pathenia came round to remind me that my £12 fee for doing the Word Processing exam is now due. Dumbass me totally forgot that I have to pay for each module's exam, so that's my chances of getting to two of the girls' away games next month gone for a burton.

After a while doing the practice exercises from the book, did two mock exams for the Managing The Computer & Using Files module. Despite a couple of little handicaps, like the school computers not being equipped with the Search Files function, the first went OK and the second was pretty comfortable. So I'll be doing the real exam next week. Spent the remaining half hour starting work on Spreadsheets.

Asked Pathenia if we have a class on December 18. She still didn't know. I explained to her about having a ticket for a concert in London, and she told me to just go, even if we do have a class that night. As I'm a couple of weeks ahead of schedule, that's fair enough, so I can go see the Pogues with a clear conscience.

To give it its full name, I'm A Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here!, but that's too long to list as a lj Interest. I love reality TV shows and people watching, and I'm A Celeb is my favourite of the lot. The fact most of the contestants are C-listers actually makes them more interesting viewing. I like the two-stage voting system, where during the first week you can vent your spleen on your least favourite contestant by voting for them to do the Bush Tucker Trials, but when the evictions start it switches to positive voting, which I like better than the negative voting used on BB.

I'll take the opportunity to sling in my favourite I'm A Celeb joke:

After four days in the jungle Katie Price and Peter Andre couldn't contain their passions any longer. In the middle of the night they got up, stealthily made their way down to the lakeside, and excitedly took all their clothes off. As they laid down to make love, they heard a rustling in the bushes.

"Is that Johnny Rotten?" asked Katie.

"I hope not," replied Peter, "it's the only one I've got!"

I have a keen interest in British history and the Jacobite cause - the supporters of the exiled James II and his family - is close to my heart. James as king tried to introduce religious tolerance and was run out of the country by bigots. And I do believe that Franz, Duke of Bavaria, the current Stuart heir (King Francis II to modern-day Jacobites), should rightfully be occupying Buckingham Palace.

I fell in love with the Åland Islands when I went there this summer. I will be taking regular holidays there and want to learn Swedish to converse with the locals.
