Jun. 28th, 2007 04:45 pmToday was 'Strawberry Tea' at the office in aid of breast cancer - people brought in various goodies, preferably pink ones, and everyone put a pound in the triangular collecting box for the privilege of partaking.
Rosemary brought a basketful of those little pink 'shrimp' sweets. They went down very well with Sarah #4, who was guilt-tripping as she gorged on them - she moaned at Rosemary for bringing them, and towards the end of the shift she announced to us all "If I eat many more of these I am going to turn PINK". That didn't stop her downing the dozen she had in her hand.
I have to confess to indulging liberally - well, there were so many different treats to try; lavender cake, Angel slices, doughnut fingers to which someone had added home-made pink icing, strawberry sundae tarts and, in a concession to health, rows of bits of fruit (strawberries included) on kebab sticks. My excesses didn't go unnoticed by Sarah #1, who during one of my minibreaks told me I was going to burst if I ate any more.
Back home, surfing the channels on my freeview box I hit on a radio station called Oneword, on which someone was reading The Inimitable Jeeves. Bally good show.
