Back to work this morning...and within five minutes of going on the phones I found myself arguing with a boot-headed woman who seemed to think that she could decide unilaterally that her husband, the sole member of the family who actually did the survey last time, was no longer going to do it. My insistence that we had to talk to him, and so ascertain his own feelings on the matter, went down like a cup of cold sick.

I'd slipped the two boxes of Cadbury's Fingers on to the table a few minutes before nine, before Carol, who was on duty today, had arrived, so when I went to pay my first visit to the water cooler she and Janine were wondering where they'd come from. I confessed I'd put them there and explained about the Gosporteers giving them to me, and that I was never going to eat them all. They were blown away. (The Fingers were very popular with the girls by the look of it, as there were only a handful left by two.)

Pretty quiet for the rest of the shift, apart from a tiresome elderly West Indian man who decided one minute into the survey that he wasn't doing it - when I asked why he said "You get someting wrong" and hung up. Feh.

On one of my mini-breaks, Carolyn asked me if I'd been watching BB8. I just said I wasn't. She and Paula said it was "OK" this year, and "very bitchy". As they disappeared out of the lounge area, I heard Fran over by the sink telling everyone about her impending holiday in Greece - a "superwoman" break, involving various fitness exercises. I told her about my hols in Åland next month; when she asked what the attraction was for me, after saying how it seemed an interesting and nice place, I told her about the music festival and my mission to discover Åland's pop music. She was well impressed.

The office jungle telegraph works fast - by 1.30 Louise #1 and Rosemary were shouting over to me from their row "So you're going to Finland next month, then?"

Home to check if Torbjörn Engman, one of Åland's leading musicians, had replied to my e-mail requesting to buy a single he released last year. He hadn't.

Got to go watch the DVD of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 me ma borrowed from a work colleague before the parents went on holiday, she wants it back tomorrow.
