Mar. 19th, 2007 10:35 pmAn e-mail this afternoon from Colin, a lecturer from my old FE college with whom I've stayed in touch. He edits the college's quarterly newsletter, they're putting together a special edition to mark the college's 20th anniversary in September, and he wants an article by one of the inaugural intake of students from 1987. So I've agreed to pen 350 words on what the college was like in my day and what it means to me, plus I have to report there at 9.30 tomorrow morning for a mugshot.
And then I was back there this evening. When I arrived in the classroom Joan gave me a thumbs-up - so I passed the Databases exam in the short time available last week after all. Niki also passed, and Joan proudly informed us both that we'd now got our Certificates so tonight would begin working for our Diplomas. So we started on making Powerpoint presentations - going OK so far :)
Around 8.30, I became aware of Niki and Liz behind my shoulder. It turned out they were looking out of the window. "It's snowing," Liz said. I observed that we'd had a few snowflakes this afternoon; Liz replied "No, it's really snowing now!" They were getting almost as excited as kids seeing snow in December. They even seemed disappointed when we went outside after class and the snow had stopped!
Home for the last half-hour of Tottenham v Chelsea.
