Feb. 9th, 2007 04:15 pmThroat no better, and nose now a little snuffly. Sarah #4, who I sat next to today, said there'd been a lot of 'a fluey thing' going around lately; I said I don't think it's flu (touching wood as I spoke) and wondered if it's just a slow-burning cold. If I'm no better on Monday morning I'm calling the doctor.
Came out of one call to hear Sarah #4 say on the phone "I'm thinking of you." I was momentarily thrown - that's not the usual kind of thing we say to our respondents - but it soon became clear she was making a personal call. Naughty girl. Poor old Sarah came off the phone looking ready to curl up and go to sleep; she was still bush whacked all through the shift. When she went home at 1.30, she seemed to take some pleasure in saying goodbye to Sue #3 and me knowing that we both still had another hour to do!
Came out at the end of the shift very glad that I'm not back again till Wednesday - it's been one of those weeks where I just haven't wanted to get up in the mornings. The illness, I suppose.
