Dec. 11th, 2006 10:12 pmThis morning, when I passed by the far end of the unit where the PEL team sit, Sarah #1 called me over with a big grin on her face. She'd had a phone call on Saturday evening to tell her she'd won two tickets to a Havant & Waterlooville game in the HawkSupport raffle (I'd sold her a book of tickets). She first asked whether I wanted them, but I'm already a season ticket holder. When I told her my father had won a tin of Quality Street in the same raffle, she said "Do you think he'd want to swap?" I explained that my dad prefers to watch his sport from the comfort of the sofa, and that he's already earmarked the Quality Street for our Christmas. I urged her to use her prize to come and watch the Hawks herself; she had a dig about our ex-pros like Dean Holdsworth and Fitzroy Simpson using Zimmer frames, but then agreed that she'd probably bring her husband to a game.
I was pretty good with the nibbles today, restricting myself to one jam teacake and one bit of Christmas shortbread, but on the way home I self-destructed. In Fareham town centre the burger van was shut, so I headed straight for WH Smith to buy The News ... and the checkout girl asked "Would you be interested in buying a big bar of Galaxy for half price? 69p." Before I knew it, I'd said yes.
Very tasty though :)
Last evening class before Christmas went fine, although Joan told me not to use 3D graphs on my spreadsheets. "If you do a 3D graph, that's a fail," she said. What? But I love doing 3D graphs!
