Dec. 4th, 2006 10:24 pmHanded out my Christmas cards at the office this morning. Got loads of comments about how I was 'early' or 'really organised' - Hilary and Jane both confessed they hadn't even bought their cards yet - while Paulette was really touched to get her first card, and Diane told me she really liked the design (frosted holly). "That's really Christmassy." An hour or so later, Karen gave me one - my first this year.
Lovely flapjack on the nibbles table today.
I'd been unable to access my Lotus Notes on Friday, as the stupid system decided it didn't like my password any more, so had reported it to the support team. Tried to log on today - exactly the same thing happened. Decidedly radged off, I told Marcus, who was standing by the computer at the time - and, without thinking, used the phrase "bugger all's been done". Thankfully, he let it go, and went with me to report it to Christine #3 who said she'd e-mail the techies before the day was out. We shall see...
In Fareham on the way home, I stopped by the burger van, where a bloke was talking to the van owner about yesterday's West Ham v Everton match. I joined the conversation and soon established that the guy was a West Ham supporter. As the van owner is a fervent Sunderland fan, the three of us were soon engaged in a lively discussion about football - joined by another customer, who came from London but supported West Bromwich Albion. The Albion fan had ordered the last of the bacon, so I settled for a burger - very tasty.
As my mother had a function this evening, she got John to give me a lift to college in the Mayoral car after he'd dropped her off. Popped to the canteen for a pre-class cup of coffee and saw Helen sitting there, so chatted to her till we went upstairs for class. I had perfect marks for my exercises from last week, and tonight was plain sailing.
Then the walk home in the rain.
