Aug. 10th, 2006 04:15 pmCathy was back at work today so I hung around at the end of the shift while, first, she completed an overrunning interview. While I was waiting I scanned the swap board and noticed that Lynda wanted to swap out of Saturday 7 October for any 4 hour shift. Sensing the chance to save using a holiday (and net a much-needed extra £24 or so), I spotted Lynda was by the cupboards packing away her shift box, and I went over to tell her I could swap her Friday 20 October. She agreed, so I loped over to Paul at the interviewer enquiry point.
"Err...Paul, you're going to love me..." In the end, he was perfectly pleasant about cancelling my holiday form for the second time - I didn't have to write out a cancellation this time, he said "Just write 'CANCELLED' across the application form." Then I made sure I completed the shift swap form straight away.
When Cathy finished her interview she saw me and asked whether I wanted a lift home, but at that moment Heather came up and collared her to do an immediate assessment of it, so I had to hang around for that to finish. Never mind, we still got away at 2.45, 55 minutes earlier than I'd have caught the bus, plus I was saved trekking through the woods to get to the temporary bus stop :)
