Jun. 16th, 2006 04:15 pmWalked down to the High Street at lunch time to see whether Boots were doing Benadryl Plus any cheaper than my local chemist. They weren't, but they did have 'buy one, get one free' on their own one-a-day hay fever tablets, in packs of 30 for £7.79. As that not only represented a saving of over a tenner on my expenditure for the rest of this month, but would also see me through to 15 August when I should be able to come off them, I had to give them a whirl.
In Boots I bumped into Steve, one of the councillors who'd been to France with us. He was a bit cheesed off about being stuck at work on such a glorious hot day, and envied me having the time off for both the football and the sun. I asked if he had a holiday planned and he said he'd already had it, going on to Paris for the Roland Garros tennis straight after the Royan visit. He said he'd been to the Rose Bowl last night for the England v Sri Lanka 20/20 match - they showed the England v Trinidad football match on the big screen first then started the cricket straight after - and we walked along the High Street chatting about cricket and the World Cup until we got to his workplace.
Got to go, Netherlands v Ivory Coast is coming on. Aanvalen Oranje!
