May. 10th, 2006 10:02 pmOffered some French chocolate around some of the girls this morning. Carole was first (pure accident, she just happened to pass my booth as I was settling down) - it was no real surprise when she declined because seconds earlier I heard her tell Sue #1 how she'd looked at herself in the mirror and been dissatisfied with her current figure. She explained "No thanks, I'm dieting, for my holiday." Of course I just smiled, but spent the next few minutes wondering 'why on ozz does anyone diet for a holiday?'
There were no takers for the chocolate. Sue #1 actually said "Us women are dieting". When I heard a couple more talking about weight loss, I remarked to Sarah #1 "Looks like there's a dieting craze sweeping the unit." Sarah replied "It's because summer's coming. We want to wear more revealing clothes so we don't want fat tums and big legs." Then she laughed "We'll start binging again in the winter."
At around 10.30 Sarah passed my booth and exclaimed how I'd eaten all my (200 g) chocolate bar. I explained that I'd hardly had any breakfast - as we'd run out of yogurts all I'd got was one blooming bagel. "There's flapjacks over there," Sarah said, and pointed at the nibbles table.
Met Tania by the water cooler. "Eight days to go," she enthused. Assuming she was talking about my mother's installation as Mayor, I corrected her "Seven", but she meant to the start of Big Brother 7! I told her how I'm going to have to video the opening show as it clashes with the Eurovision semi-final. "So much to watch, isn't there?" she chuckled.
Just watched the UEFA Cup Final. I'd wanted Middlesbrough to win, but have to admit Kanoute was pure magic.
