Have a meme, from [livejournal.com profile] andthatisthat and [livejournal.com profile] phonographgirl :

Go back in your LJ and post the first sentence of the first post in every month from this year.

January: So today at work we welcomed back the skivers who took last week off, cue much Happy New Yearing and "did you have a nice Christmas?"-ing all round.
February: Sitting up late last night clearing my e-mail (yes, I know that wasn't a great idea on a school night, I'm bush whacked now, but I had a hell of a lot to get through) I tuned in to The Quay's phone-in show The North-South Divide, only for the transmission to keep going silent.
March: In our civic capacity, accompanied my mother to the 'Hampshire Ambassadors 10th Anniversary Buffet' at the county council HQ in Winchester yesterday evening.
April: Date Movie was hysterical, a way over-the-top send-up of all the rom-coms of the last few years - plus digs at Kill Bill and Lord Of The Rings too (Frodo selling The Ring to a jeweller for $50 had me splitting my sides).
May: Walked over to Bill's (in the rain) at 8.30 yesterday morning to drive to the Rose Bowl for Hampshire v Essex in the C&G Trophy.
June: When I passed Lesley this morning she said excitedly "Are you voting him out?"
July: The W*t*rfr*nt F*st*v*l started yesterday evening, and it was my mother's Mayoral duty to open it.
August: We set off at 8 am on Saturday.
September: Got home from work to find my copy of Maria Lawson's CD ('Gift Edition') has arrived from Amazon :)
October: No Sunday morning lie-in this week, as my mother and I were guests of honour at St John's Church's Centenary Service.
November: Up at sparrow's fart yesterday morning to go to Basingstoke Civic Day.
December: We had delicious home-made cakes on the nibbles table at work this morning, one rocky road and the other a similar but lighter brown one, possibly made with golden syrup.

Make of that what you will.

Yours are all quite different. Mine are all short and pretty much the same thing.
