We had a power cut this morning. For just over an hour I lived in fear, not just of the food in the fridges and freezer going manky but also that I would have to dip into my meagre available funds and go to the pub to watch the football. At 10.40, though, my radio alarm clock and video sprang back to life; my heart sank when the power cut out again almost immediately, but a minute later it was back for good. Phew.

Looking at today's games - South Korea v Togo, France v Switzerland and Brazil v Croatia - who'd ever have imagined South Korea v Togo would be the best of the three? Ah, the wonders of the World Cup.

France might have been awful on the field, but at least, having now tried all the flavours, the French Frogs' Legs & Garlic crisps are my favourite, with the Brazilian Salsa flavour in second...

I'd heard Univision has better soccer commentary than your English speaking stations, and as a result a lot of non-Hispanic soccer fans prefer to watch it - it must be true, then! Added you right back. x
