We had a power cut this morning. For just over an hour I lived in fear, not just of the food in the fridges and freezer going manky but also that I would have to dip into my meagre available funds and go to the pub to watch the football. At 10.40, though, my radio alarm clock and video sprang back to life; my heart sank when the power cut out again almost immediately, but a minute later it was back for good. Phew.

Looking at today's games - South Korea v Togo, France v Switzerland and Brazil v Croatia - who'd ever have imagined South Korea v Togo would be the best of the three? Ah, the wonders of the World Cup.

France might have been awful on the field, but at least, having now tried all the flavours, the French Frogs' Legs & Garlic crisps are my favourite, with the Brazilian Salsa flavour in second...

Thanks! Thinking about it, the Italian Arrabiatta flavour ones are quite tasty too... :)

Spain v Ukraine, Tunisia v Saudi Arabia and Germany v Poland. Sadly I didn't have any paella, chocolate-coated pork fat (that's a delicacy in Ukraine!), couscous or sheep eyes, but I did have a bag of German Sausage crisps - delicious.
