The decorations and tree are up in my local shopping centre too and have been up for a while. Santa even arrived about a week ago and he's sitting in his grotto meeting all the kids!
Here in good ol' consumerist USA, our Christmas decorations started going up HALLOWEEN DAY. Not kidding even a little bit. By mid-morning on Halloween, at the grocery store where I work, the gondolas full of Halloween candy were emptied of their contents and re-filled with "seasonal favorites."
The lady who lives below me has a Christmas tree up in her window, already! Last year, my friends looked at me like I was crazy for not decorating the day after Thanksgiving. Not until December, I say!
Oh, by the way, HI. I know I never comment because I'm a lurker, but I do read and enjoy your entries. :)

Thankfully, in Britain we have Bonfire Night on 5 November to keep Christmas at bay :)
