Went to Uncle Hector's birthday barbecue. He and Aunt Marian went caravanning in France last month, so invited me to try a French beer called 'Wel Scotch', made with Scottish malt. Very nice.
Mental note made. Am in Newry next week, which apparently boasts the largest Sainsbury's off-licence in the UK, so will keep an eye out as I stock up with my favourite ales. But the big question is will they stock Caramacs? Hmm, dubious.
I have an order for a British ex-pat who I'm visiting in the States, so am curious to see if I'll find any, as there's none here. Fingers crossed indeed!
