Twist And Shout

It's just one thing after another. Since Saturday night, I've had an almost constant feeling of wanting to spend a penny (and occasionally not been able to deliver), though it's been less bad since yesterday morning - touch wood. My first thoughts were 'prostate trouble', so when I was no better by Wednesday, I made an appointment to go back to the doc this morning.

Then at work yesterday mid-morning I suddenly got a splitting headache. I stuck it out at my desk till lunch time, but then wasn't able to eat without feeling sick. I abandoned my lunch, promptly went and threw up in the loo, and went back up to the office where Mark offered to give me a lift home since everyone was doubtful about my fitness to drive. Sure enough, in Stubbington I had to ask Mark to pull over in a side street for me to chuck again. On arriving home, went straight to bed.

Woke up this morning with my headache totally gone so went back to work. One senior colleague said I shouldn't have come in even though I was feeling better - "it's a lovely day, should just have had a day off". Hmm - hitting the beach when officially on sick leave doesn't quite chime with my conscience...

The doctor asked me for a urine sample to send off for testing. Looking at it, and asking me a few questions, she said it was probably a urinary tract infection, adding that you can get them alongside constipation. When I told her about the headache and chucking up yesterday, she said that was also a by-product of UTIs. She prescribed me a week-long course of antibiotics.

So fingers crossed it is infection and not prostate...

Sounds like UTI.

UTIs are pretty nasty things - I had the misfortune of suffering one myself about fifteen years ago, and it knocked me for six for about a week and took some potent antibiotics to shift it. Sounds a lot like what I had, although I didn't chuck up. Had monstrous headaches, though.

Had blood in my pee as well, it didn't half make me panic.

I hope you feel better soon. *Hugs*

Good on you for going to the doc's. Too many people think "it'll be allright," and then it isn't. I hope it is just a UTI and nothing more serious.
