Got the DVD of The Game of Their Lives from the parents, the obligatory multi pack of Jaffa Cakes from Gran, a novel from Katherine and socks from Sam and Mike. My nibbles - mini coconut macaroon cakes, lemon puffs, some Polish chocolates, Celebrations and Galaxy Moments - went down well at the office, although a couple of dieting women gave me gentle stick for putting temptation in their way. Got a nice lot of cards from the others, including some very funny ones and several related to football or cars. Demelza asked whether I'd be doing anything this evening to celebrate; I said I'd just be having a couple of beers in front of the TV. When I said goodbye she said "Enjoy your beers, I want to see you with a hangover tomorrow."
