Quiet shift today, being leap week; I did two or three interviews, made appointments for a few of people and spent the rest of the time getting answering machines or 'no reply'. Twice in the second half of the shift the computer ran out of cases to throw me. The first time, Sue was glad to have me available to stuff three more carousels; the second time, just after 2 pm, Christine just got me to switch to another selector, but again I ended up just making appointments and getting answerphones.
I do love Leap Week; what a shame it's over now. In other news I've hawked up some huge globules of gilbert today; my throat felt clearer after each one, so hope that's a sign my cold's on the way out.
Driving lesson after work. Made the worst possible start, stalling twice from not putting the clutch all the way down when braking for turns. The rest of the lesson went OK, though, especially after Peter told me to step on the gas when straightening up after turns (previously, I'd been waiting till after I straightened up to accelerate, meaning I came out of turns rather slow). By the end, Peter said that although I still needed to work on applying more brake coming up to junctions, and I'm still over-steering on right turns, it's getting a lot better. That'll do me.
