Pump Up The Volume

Dentist's for my appointment with the hygienist. Had a lengthy wait in the waiting room - I think she had someone in before me who overran. She gave me the customary scale and polish, scraping quite a lot of matter off all my teeth, and told me I needed red size interdental brushes. She chatted to me about plans for Christmas and what's on the telly, and asked if I was related to a local councillor - "yes, she's my mum".
