Alas, we don't have Sky Movies Premiere; and, unforgivably, Radio 5 Live no longer broadcasts the Oscars ceremony live. So I missed it. But such regrets were forgotten when my radio alarm woke me at 6 am with the voice of The Coast's newsreader relaying that :

SHE WON!! YEEEEESSSSSSS!!!

With the ongoing uncertainty over my second job that was happy news I badly needed.

With the uncertainty over my second job, the worst thing I could have got today was a man who turned nasty halfway through the interview and, though he completed it, gave me an earful of abuse on completion and said he wasn't going to do it again. I was due a health and safety break anyway after that call; spoke to the supervisors on my way out to the break area but they were unhelpful.

The rest of the shift was busy and thankfully incident free, but the day got worse when I called at Fareham WH Smith's on the way home and was told they'd run out of Life on Mars DVDs. I asked if they knew of any other local branch that still had some; one of the girls behind the counter said she didn't think so, but "you can send off for them". I pointed out that you need six coupons to send off for them and the most I can get now is three. She just said "Sorry" with a very annoying shrug.

So I can never complete the set after all :(

Phew, the crisis has been averted - I have the Statto job to the end of the season, albeit on a reduced wage. There seems little hope for the Life on Mars DVD, though...

Found a copy of the News of the World Life on Mars DVD on ebay. Props to Paula, who said when we spoke on the phone earlier this evening that I might find one there.
